Taking Advantage of Free Help Desk Software

June 17, 2014 By Jacques

Companies and businesses need the internet in order to efficiently function. Not only are many new customers found through online sources and searches, but general office production turning more towards online networking as well.  Financial transactions, daily logs and services and communication has all moved from paper to digital.  Keeping customers happy now works in direct relation to how streamlined a company is online. We now live in an era where most correspondence is done through a keyboard rather than a phone line.   It is imperative that companies work diligently to ensure that they have the electronic means necessary to be able to keep up in this technological age. There needs to be feasible ways to be able to log customer inquiries, questions, complaints and issues. This is key to happy customers and great service.  Relying on customers to phone in with issues is now outdated and overestimated.  There needs to be ways for customers to be able to reach your company via, internet fax service, Facebook, Twitter and other social media outlets.  Utilizing the free help desk software online will help streamline this process and bring your company instantly into the current generation. Pen and paper no longer make adequate recording practice.  However, with free help desk software you do not need to be proficient in these different websites, the software will do the work for you.

Software

In 1936, the first freely programmable computer was invented, it wasn’t until 1951 that the first commercial computer was born.  The highly recognized “chip” was introduced in 1968.  It wasn’t until 1962 that the first computer game came along. It was called SpaceWar. Interestingly enough Steve Russell, the inventor of this game, changed history again when he transferred to Stanford University. It was there that he met Nolan Bushnell.  Nolan was an engineering student at Stanford.  Steve introduced programming and his game SpaceWar to him.  Nolan then went on to create the first coin operated computerized arcade game as well as the company Atari.  The term “mouse” was coined in 1964 because of the tail coming out of the end of this tool. In 1974 computers became accessible for consumers. Word processors debuted in 1979 and Apple launched their computers in 1984.  In a 48 year span, computers went from being unheard off to being a household utility.  Since then, the evolution of social networking moved at lightning speed. It is easy to see why free help desk software is the preferred over creating your own customer service database.

From the first email in 1971, until today, how we communicate has changed how we do business.  The World Wide Web went public in 1991.  ICQ, one of the first chatting programs was launched in 1996. It was hugely successful.  Hotmail debuted in 1997 along with AOL instant messaging.  Google followed in 1998. The world changed again in 2005 with Facebook for Harvard students debuted in 2004.  It has since then launched to the world changing how we all communicate.  Youtube followed in 2005, Twitter in 2006, Pinterest in 2010 and Google Plus in 2011.  The changes in how we access technology and how we used it changed dramatically in less than 20 years.  It is no wonder that little thought is given by company owners on the best way to keep on top of working seamlessly with their customers.  Free help desk software is imperative for those that want to work with their customer base.  The software available will process the communications from multiple means, including social networking and file it into your computer program for your company to manage.

There is free help desk software available to be used online, to better manage, troubleshoot and communicate with your customers. Because of the multiple changes in technology, no two customers will try to communicate with you in the same way. Because of the speed of the changes in technology, no company is expected to be a professional in all levels of computer skills. The software is in place to do that work for you.  If you manage a business or own a company, it is imperative that you look into your current methods of troubleshooting and communicating.  Make the changes necessary to keep your company current and available to those that need you.
